Lillian Sudie Kelley Selph, age 83, of Jennings, FL. passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 at her home in Jennings following an illness of some time.
Sudie was born in Hamilton County, FL. on April 2, 1934 to the late Pennywell and Ora Lee Smith Kelley. She was surrounded her whole life by a large family of sisters and brothers as well as extended family. This environment afforded her a great love and appreciation for family and it remained a very important part of her life. She met and married Cleveland R. Selph Sr. and together they worked hard to build their farm up. They shared the farm with their children making it a true family farming operation known all over for their farming and swine operation. Some will remember as her children got a little older Sudie worked as a school bus driver and as a substitute teacher for the Hamilton County School Board. She was a member of Burnham Christian Church. Sudie was preceded in death by her husband Cleveland in March of 2001 and her daughter Inga in February of 2015. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Roy and P.F. Kelley.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Cleveland R. Selph, Jr. "Clevie" and his wife Susan of Jennings; her daughter, Kwana "Leisha" Selph Saulter also of Jennings; son-in-law, Eddie Hatch of Trenton; three brothers, Jerry Kelley, Jacksonville, FL., Terry Kelley, Mt. Dora, FL., Wes Kelley, Madison, FL.; five sisters, Lavern Harris, Lakeland, FL., Christine Ullrich, Homerville, GA., Christlee O'Dwyer, Live Oak, FL., Shyril Norris, Suwannee, FL., Rhonda Hancock, Live Oak, FL.; four grandchildren and six great granddaughters.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Burnham Christian Church near Jennings. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
The family received friends at the church on Wednesday.
