Herman Harrell, age 95, of Jennings, FL. passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. following an extended illness. Services were held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Jennings United Methodist Church in Jennings, FL. with interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Herman was born in Lake Butler, FL. on August 20, 1922 to the late B.D. and Avalou Blanton Harrell. He joined the United States Air Force and served during World War II. On July 20, 1946 he married the love of his life, Ella Marie Parker. They celebrated 69 anniversaries together until her death on April 20, 2016. Herman was a rural route mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for nearly 40 years. He was a longtime faithful member of Jennings United Methodist Church. Herman was preceded by his wife, Ella; parents, a sister, Kathryn Reid, and a brother, B.D. Harrell, Jr. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael H. and Vicki Harrell of Live Oak, FL.; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Larry Burnam of Jennings, FL.; four granddaughters, Amie, Branden, Jennifer and Bridgette; three great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jennings United Methodist Church. Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, FL. was in charge of arrangements.
